What is OET? 

OET, also known as the Occupational English Test, is a certified English proficiency test for healthcare professionals by a number of regulatory authorities.

Your occupational English language competency is assessed by the OET in four key areas, including speaking, reading, and writing.

The OET test results are expressed as grades, which guarantee that a candidate has a sufficient command of the language and can interact with patients, coworkers, doctors, etc.

Since effective communication is essential to a functioning healthcare system, applicants who pass the OET are deemed qualified to work as professional medical personnel in the hospitals of 15 nations as of May 2022.

Grading requirement for International Medical Graduates and Nurse

International medical graduates (IMGs) must receive a minimum score of 350 (Grade B) on each of the four OET (Medicine) assessed components: listening, reading, writing, and speaking, in order to be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Nurses applying to Oregonin must receive a minimum of 4 Grade C+s and must obtain a minimum of 4 Grade Bs (minimum score of 350) for Oregon (minimum score of 300).
